Let us pursue another dumb idea that turned into a good idea.
As we've casually mentioned for the past few months, we've been working on a new (occasional) show, GOD BLESS THE RING, an exploration of the history, lore, and gameplay of classic beat 'em ups and fighting games. We brought in a third host (thanks, Mark) and try to put a twist on our format.
Fighting games and beat 'em ups aren't really ripe for a deep, critical analysis in the traditional sense, but Eric applied weird, creative fiction to each encounter as we talked through the game.
This is GOD BLESS THE RING – Retrograde Amnesia’s exploration of the history, lore, and gameplay mechanics of classic beat ‘em ups and fighting games. In our first installment, we're hitting up Double Dragon and Double Dragon II: The Revenge. We are joined by the purveyor hot sounds himself, Mark.
